Just back from Cabo San Lucas
John and I met up with (some of) the crew from Australia for a little reunion in Cabo San Lucas. The trip was billed as the "30th Birthday Celebration" since Jen, Amanda and Bryan all turn 30 within a week of each other. Since John and I celebrated that occasion long ago, we went for a little down time and catching up with friends.
We spent our days laying around the pool and couldn't even be bothered to move ourselves to the beach. With a kitchen and large BBQ at our disposal everyone was perfectly content with never leaving the place other than for trips to the grocery store and one evening out on the town. We spent most of the week reading, playing cards and floating in the pool. There was one game of caps brought back as a tribute to our "younger days" but it was a short game.
As I was saying, most of the trip was about relaxing. I call this the "Red Neck Yacht Club" since we attached ourselves to each other and floated around as one big mess. It's too hard to hold a conversation when you have to yell.
This trip was Kent and Amanda's first time in a pool together after a full year of marriage and a Honeymoon in Hawaii. Crazy things happen, I guess.
There were two others in the group this year. Vikki and Richard. Vikki is Jen's friend from college (they used to play Volleyball together) and she owns her own Outback Steakhouse in Redding, PA. If you're ever in the area, stop in for a Bloomin' Onion! Richard is Bryan's friend who is a homeowner in Boston. Having lived there for four years I have to say that's quite an accomplishment!
Here's a picture of Bryan, Vikki and Richard hanging out by the hot tub. Vikki makes a mean margarita!
